Writing with the Wright Brothers

Description:
This activity is teacher driven with each
of the resources on overheads. Discussion questions
are provided and discussions may take place as a whole
class or in small groups. The discussion format can
vary throughout the lesson for different resources
as determined by the teacher. Throughout the lesson,
primary sources are analyzed and the importance of
writing and different types of writing are displayed
and discussed. At the end of the lesson, students
watch a brief clip of the Wright Brothers flying their
plane and then write a postcard to a friend as if
they had actually been there.
