Title: Comprehend and Interpret
Grade Level(s): 4th grade
Description:
The activity integrates the 4th grade language arts goals 2.02,
2.04 and 2.05 with information skills goals 1.05,
1.06, 1.09, and 1.11.
Students may choose a color coded task card that corresponds
with the color backing on the primary source photos
that are displayed. Each task card asks a series
of questions or requires a set of activities which
relate to the following: beginning, middle, end;
main idea, supporting details; theme, plot; formulating
questions, locating relevant information; purpose;
predictions, inferences, drawing conclusions; mood,
contrast &
compare. The activity is designed, as time permits,
for students to move at their own pace through the
various tasks. |
